Who we are

mathaura (mathaura.com) is a mental-math speed game run by an individual based in Taiwan ("we", "us"). By playing or signing in you agree to these terms. Questions: [email protected].

Playing and your account

• You can play as a guest, or sign in with Google to claim your times and appear on the boards.
• One account per person. Keep your Google account secure; what happens on your mathaura account is on you.
• Usernames, bios and handles must not impersonate anyone, harass anyone, or be hateful or sexual. We can change or remove them, or suspend the account.

Fair play

No bots, scripts, macros, modified clients, or anyone else playing for you. Every ranked run is checked on our servers. Runs that look impossible are rejected or flagged, and automated play gets the account (and the browser it played from) banned and removed from the boards. Ban decisions are ours; if you think we got it wrong, email us and we will look again.

Age

Anyone can play. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission before buying premium, and they are responsible for the purchase.

Premium and billing

• Plans and current prices are on the premium page. Premium gives unlimited ranked runs and the perks listed there.
• Payments are processed by Polar, the merchant of record, under its Checkout Buyer Terms. Polar handles tax and sends your receipt.
• Weekly and monthly plans renew automatically at the price in effect, charged to the same payment method, until you cancel.
• Cancel anytime with Manage subscription on the premium page. Canceling stops the next renewal; premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
• Lifetime is a single payment and lasts as long as mathaura runs. Buying lifetime stops an active subscription from renewing.
• We may change prices. A new price applies to a subscription only from its next renewal after we tell you.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable, including for unused parts of a subscription period, except where the law requires a refund. To ask, email [email protected] or contact Polar through your receipt.

Aura and the boards

Aura points are cosmetic. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, traded or exchanged. We may recalculate, reset or remove times, ranks and boards, for example to remove cheating.

Your content

Your username, avatar, bio, social handles, times and ranks are shown publicly. You keep what is yours and let us display it on mathaura and in share cards and previews of your runs. See the Privacy Policy for what we collect.

Changes to mathaura

mathaura is provided as is. Features can change and the service can go down. If we shut mathaura down, we will stop all renewals and refund the unused part of any current subscription period.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that the law says cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; we will flag important changes in the app. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China). Disputes go to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the country you live in.
